Lyn Pierse director of this program is Australia's most recognised Improvisation teacher. With 40 years practical industry experience, she brings to each class a core understanding of Improvisation and a life time of theatre teaching skills. Her clients are at grass roots level and at the top end of the Entertainment industry and Corporate arena. Her students are on stages and screens world wide.

A NIDA Acting Graduate, she has taught a generation of actors, improvisers, teachers and comics.  Senior Improvisation teacher at NIDA (22 years), ACA, AIM, HUB Studio, ISA, UNE, Macquarie Uni., Sophia Uni. Tokyo, ATYP, Drama NSW,  NSW Speech & Drama Teachers’ Association, Genesian Theatre, UNESCO Chair Romania, and a host of Corporate clients including; CBA, Westpac, HSBC, Delloitte, KPMG, PWC, Alinta Energy, Pivotal Sydney, The Monkeys Advertising.

As National Coach, Lyn pioneered Theatresports® teaching across Australia and New Zealand for Belvoir Street Theatre. For United Performance Studio she established Theatresports® in Japan. She’s staged Improvisation and Charity extravaganzas to capacity audiences at Sydney Opera House, Enmore Theatre, Belvoir Street, State Theatre Sydney, NIDA Playhouse, QPAC and State Theatre South Australia. These include Cranston Cup, ‘Celebrity’,National’ and ‘International’ Theatresports® Challenges, Much Ado About Impro: Improvised Shakespeare and 30th Anniversary Theatresports ® Celebrity Challenge.

Her Acting credits include: Lie With Me (BNW Old 505), Three Sisters (Sport For Jove), The Importance of Being Earnest, Roberto Zucco (Old Fitz.), The Pigeons (Griffin Independent), The Women Of Lockerbie, The Fabulous Punch and Judy Show, Australian Premier Berkhoff’s Greek, Rex Cramphorne’s Measure For Measure, Neil Armfield’s Season Sarsaparilla (SATC), Woyzek, Miss. Julie (Theatre Studies Sydney Uni) and Nick Enright’s original Summer Rain.

Her standup comedy as Sr. Mary Leonard includes performances at: Harold Park Hotel, Tokyo British Club, Last Laugh's Le Joke, Cat and Fiddle Hotel, Comics on the Cross, Theatresports® MC  Sydney Opera House, Enmore and Belvoir Street Theatres.

Film appearances include: Skinford, Lovestuck, Tropfest Finalist The ATM and The Bench Series. TV: Secret Daughter, Rake, How Not To Behave, The Balmoral Protection Unit, SBS's Going Home, All Saints and Home and Away.

Lyn studied with RSC Directors Bill Alexander and Lucy Bailey at Shakespeare In Italy. She has worked for Young Australia Workshop co-directing their Shakespeare in schools touring seasons.

Lyn is the author of the widely studied text, ‘Improvisation: the Guide’.
